HUMANBULB’s Mobile STEM Center

A pop-up STEM & workforce lab — powered by an all-electric Rivian

HUMANBULB’s Mobile STEM Center is an all-electric, Rivian R1T–powered pop-up learning experience that brings hands-on STEM and future-of-work tools directly into Sacramento County communities. Instead of asking families to find a program, we bring the program to where people already gather (schools, community events, youth centers, and career pathways spaces).

Our goal is simple: reduce barriers and expand access to advanced technology, real-world STEM experiences, and local career pathways, especially for underserved and underrepresented communities.

What happens at a Mobile STEM Center deployment?

Each deployment is designed as an interactive rotation of hands-on stations, facilitated by the HUMANBULB team. Participants explore new tools, test ideas, and connect what they’re learning to real careers and local opportunities.

Every event includes:

  • Hands-on STEM stations (age-appropriate and guided)

  • Career pathway connections (education + training options in the region)

  • A welcoming, high-energy “try it yourself” environment designed for community settings

Hands-on STEM stations (customized for each event)

The Mobile STEM Center is modular — we tailor each deployment to fit the audience, location, and goals.

    • 3D scanning

    • 3D printing

    • CNC concepts

Connected career pathways: advanced manufacturing, engineering, product design

    • Robotic arms

    • Sensor-guided cars

    • Basic automation challenges

Connected career pathways: engineering, coding, robotics, mechatronics

  • Immersive experiences that help participants see themselves in real jobs.

Connected career pathways: STEM careers across sectors + training routes

  • Hands-on learning related to solar, wind, hydroponics, electrification, and sustainability

Connected career pathways: clean energy, sustainability, green careers

  • The vehicle itself is part of the experience — a real-world platform to teach:

    • transportation electrification

    • battery energy concepts

    • charging and energy efficiency

    • how everyday technology connects to emerging jobs

Mobile STEM Center deployments are launching soon. If you’d like to be considered for an early deployment partner, please contact us and we’ll reach out as scheduling opens.

Our approach: inclusive, flexible, community-rooted

The Mobile STEM Center is designed to be:

  • modular (custom stations + activities per event)

  • age-appropriate (youth-friendly, beginner-friendly, and scalable in difficulty)

  • accessible (welcoming facilitation, adaptable signage/language support when needed)

  • career-connected (always tied to real pathways and local opportunities)

More than STEM: a hub for workforce pathways

Every Mobile STEM Center deployment includes a workforce development component. We use the Mobile STEM Center as an information hub that connects youth and adults to:

  • local upskilling and reskilling programs

  • education and training opportunities

  • certifications, internships, and entry points into high-demand careers

Because curiosity is powerful — but pathways are what turn interest into opportunity.

Where we Deploy:

We are building our deployment calendar now and prioritizing high-impact settings across Sacramento County, including:

  • Community festivals and public events

  • Title I school STEM nights

  • Youth centers and community-based organizations

  • Workforce and career exploration events

We’re also excited to collaborate with local leaders and partners who want to expand STEM access through large-scale community activations.
