A free 3-session indoor STEM & Sustainability program where participants explore the local sewer system through hands-on activities, simulations, and real-world environmental learning.
About the Program
“The Hidden Network” introduces participants to the unseen systems that keep our communities healthy and sustainable.
Through interactive challenges and build-based projects, participants will learn how wastewater is managed, treated, and transformed. A hands-on opportunity to explore pathways into green technology and environmental careers.
Program Sessions
Session 1: Sewer System Simulation
Simulate blockages in mock sewer systems and learn about proper waste disposal
Session 2: Wastewater Treatment
Build water filtration models to understand how wastewater is cleaned.
Session 3: Resource Recovery
Simulate biogas creation and test biosolids to see how resources are recovered from waste.
