Paid Clean Tech Internships for Sacramento Residents
HUMANBULB’s Green Careers Launchpad is an 8-week, paid internship program designed to prepare participants for pathways in Sacramento’s growing clean and green economy.
Through project-based work, professional training, and mentorship, interns build real-world experience while developing technical, communication, and leadership skills.

Interns work with HUMANBULB to support clean tech companies and local sustainability initiatives through real projects, such as:
Research, writing, and resource development
Digital media content creation and management
Project management support
Event and workshop planning
Marketing and outreach strategy
Community engagement and relationship-building
This is resume-building work that helps you learn how clean tech startups and community partners operate.

You’ll learn the basics of climate and clean tech—and how careers connect to real solutions. Topics include:
Climate change impacts and local solutions
Decarbonization strategies (moving buildings, transportation, and infrastructure toward zero-emission technologies)
Clean tech trends and innovation
Sacramento’s green job growth and career pathways
You’ll also explore key sectors in the green economy like renewable energy, EV charging, water conservation, waste and recycling, green building, sustainable transportation, and more.

Each week, interns participate in joint training and career development, including:
Communication, teamwork, and workplace expectations
Goal setting, time management, and professionalism
Leadership, self-advocacy, and conflict resolution
Resilience, stress management, and emotional wellness
Financial literacy training
Resume + LinkedIn support
Mock interviews and personalized coaching
You’ll also meet guest speakers from clean tech careers and go on field trips to local clean tech businesses and sustainability organizations.

Program Structure
Interns participate in a cohort model designed for support and real-world experience:
One in-person day per week with your cohort
One remote day per week to practice digital collaboration and time management
One combined training day weekly with all cohorts (workshops, guest speakers, field trips)
