The HUMANBULB Green Careers Launchpad is a paid internship program designed to introduce young people to career pathways in the green economy. This 8-week opportunity offers real-world experience supporting clean technology companies and climate innovation partners in the Sacramento region. No prior experience is required.


Internship Details:

  • Duration: 8 weeks

  • Hours: 20 hours per week

  • Eligibility: Ages 16–30

  • Residency Requirement: Must reside within the City of Sacramento

  • Compensation: $18/hr

Program Overview:
Interns will gain hands-on experience contributing to the development of Sacramento’s clean tech ecosystem. Intern responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting research and developing written resources

  • Creating and managing digital media content

  • Supporting project management activities

  • Assisting with planning and executing events and workshops

  • Supporting marketing and outreach strategies

  • Engaging with the community and building partnerships

Interns will be introduced to various sectors within the green economy, including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, water conservation, green building, waste management and recycling, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, sustainable transportation, climate resilience, and advanced manufacturing.

No prior experience is required. All interns will receive training on climate change causes and impacts, key decarbonization strategies, and trends in clean technology innovation.

  • Leadership and self-advocacy

  • Emotional wellness and stress management

  • Conflict resolution and resilience-building

Career Readiness Support Includes:

  • Resume and LinkedIn profile development

  • Mock interviews with individualized feedback

  • Financial literacy training

  • Field trips to local clean tech businesses, energy companies, and environmental organizations

  • Guest speaker sessions with professionals from public and private sectors in green technology

This internship is designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of clean technology career pathways and develop transferable skills for long-term success in the workforce.
